Stevie Dennis Nelson

Stevie Dennis Nelson, son of the late Victorine Nelson and the late Abraham Posey was born on January 22, 1958, in Aiken County, South Carolina.  Stevie transitioned to his heavenly home on March 5, 2024.

At an early age Stevie was baptized and became a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.  He graduated from Wagener-Salley High School, Wagener, South Carolina with the class of 1977. 

After high school Stevie enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country for 12 years and 4 months.  After his enlistment in the military Stevie continued his career with SCE&G.

Stevie was a member of the American Legion Post 215 and a life member of the VFW Post 4262.  During his membership at the American Legion, he served as 2nd Vice Commander, and on the house committee, both for Post 215.

Stevie was preceded in passing by his parents, sister Sharon Nelson, grandmother Martha Nelson and grandfather Russell Nelson.

Those left to cherish the life they lived with Stevie include two daughters, Courtney Steele of Atlanta, Georgia and Brittany Harris of Columbia, South Carolina; one brother Lavaski (Betty) Nelson of Columbia, South Carolina; one sister, Debra Davis of Fort Walton Beach, Florda; two aunts, Carolyn and Hettie Jean Nelson both of Salley, South Carolina; one uncle, Russell Nelson of Columbia, South Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many many loving friends.
